Drafts begin on date at 12:00 Midnight
Draft Rules
The draft is structured as followed:
Applies (Keeper League Only)- If you are playing in a brand new keeper league and your teams are new, you will be taking part in an expansion draft of 7 rounds on August 1st.(Expansion draft is veteran players only!) (Note: Please do not predraft your players beyond 7 rounds until after expansion drafts are complete. Then you will be allowed. This is for those of you in a new keeper league).
If you are in an established keeper league, you will be having your regular draft on August 10th (All players in the pool). Draft is 17 rounds for new keeper leagues, and 10 rounds for established keeper leagues. Also for new keeper leagues, following your expansion draft, you will pick up your remaining 10 rounds on August 10th.(All players in the pool..rookies/Vets..)
Applies (Redraft only)- All redraft leagues draft on August 10th and will be 17 rounds.
Applies (All leagues)- All new leagues draft in an S-Style format. Goes in a snake format. (Ex: if you have last pick in the first round, you will have the first pick in the second round.
All established 2nd year and beyond keeper leagues only will draft based on order of finish from prior season. Example- last place teams in 2004, gets 1st pick in all rounds in 2005. Redraft leagues will go in order based from prior season in the first round. The rest of draft for redraft only is in S-format for those not in a keeper league.
Remember to draft wisely to cover your depth at positions to compensate for bye weeks and player injuries.
All teams have 12-hours when on the clock to make a selection or your pick is skipped and will have to notify me by email to manually select your pick. Your pick will be determined and be based on availability by time I receive it. I will be actively checking email, but in my experience, we have never had an owner have to do this ever. If you know you will miss your pick, please use the predraft function to make your pick. Also, even though you have 32-hours, please use the predraft function. Please be considerate, if you will be away from your computer for more then 16 hours, please predraft in that round to keep the draft moving along.
(Highly recommended) Also in the advanced franchise setup menu, please setup your email preferences to receive reports. Doing this will allow you to receive an email notification of when a team has made a selection.
Beginning August 8th - Trading activity begins. You can trade draft picks for players, or picks for picks.
For those doing expansion draft, you can trade those players once on your roster for picks in the second part of the drafts.
Please remember, if you go over 18 players, all rosters must be trimmed to 18 players by July 31st. If owner does not cut roster, the commisioner will use discretion and cut rosters to 18 if deadline passes. Please avoid this.
Any rule questions, please contact the commisioner. Good luck!
